Your First Visit

Patient Forms

Upon entering our office, we will request that you complete our patient forms. If you would like to save time during this visit, you can print off the forms, fill them out completely, and bring them with you to your appointment. This paperwork provides us with your health history and information on your condition.

Next, you will have a consultation with one of our doctors to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, health goals, potential treatment options and answer any questions you may have. This initial visit is designed for the doctors to learn more about you, your condition, and expectations in order to determine how chiropractic care can meet your goals.

After your consultation, the doctor will perform a complete chiropractic examination that may consist of a variety of tests in order to find the true cause of your complaints. This may include postural analysis, spinal motion, muscle testing, orthopedic tests, neurological tests, reflexes, palpation, and leg length checks.

X-Ray Studies

Depending on your specific condition and if the doctor feels it is necessary, x-rays will be taken in order to see the underlying structure of your area of complaint. X-rays help the doctors develop the most effective treatment plan for you, and alert us of any serious spinal conditions. Most people are amazed once they view and are explained what is going on with their x-rays.

Report of Findings

After reviewing your health history, examining your spine and x-rays, the doctor will discuss recommendations and notify you if your condition requires care with other providers. The doctor will provide the best treatment and wellness program for your needs.

Your initial appointment may include spinal adjustments, physical therapeutics such as massage, cold laser therapy, ice, heat, spinal traction or soft tissue manual therapy. Treatment is interactive, so you can express concerns about the different styles of treatment anytime.

Wellness Program

Prior to leaving, the doctor will suggest a wellness program to incorporate outside of treatment. If you are in pain when you first come into our office this may include: ice or heat application instructions, certain activities or positions to avoid, and at home exercises and/or stretches. Every person is unique; therefore everyone requires a customized wellness plan and additional at home therapy to be performed in between visits. The purpose of our wellness program is for you to achieve good spinal alignment, have a healthy diet, exercise, and maintain a positive mental state.
